Zviedru vārti restaurant
Zviedru Vārti is a family restaurant serving Latvian and international home kitchen.Do not miss out on their pork meatballs, grey peas with ham and cold beetroot soup. For the dessert try traditional Latvian rye bread soup.
The average meal price per person is 15,00 EUR.
Soraksans
Korean BBQ restaurant in the Old Town.
Try out one of their Korean BBQ sets - they will bring everything necessary for a Korean BBQ, you can grill the meat yourself, at your table, and have a wonderful experience. BBQ set price is 32.00-45.00 EUR and is enough for 4 people.
They also have a large selection of Korean food made by the chef. Prices range from 4.00 to 15.00 EUR, so it is very affordable, good quality Korean food.
You can also try their 5.00 EUR business lunch offer, Mon - Fri, from 12:00 - 14:00.
3 pavāru restorāns "Tam labam būs augt"
3 Pavāru Restorāns is a top-tier choice for fine dining in Riga, where three talented chefs create a modern take on Baltic flavors. Their exceptional 6-course tasting menu - priced at €65 per person - showcases seasonal ingredients through inventive and beautifully presented dishes. Ideal for a special night out, it offers a memorable culinary journey in a sophisticated yet relaxed setting.
This is more than a meal; it’s an experience at the forefront of Latvian gastronomy.
LIDO Alus sēta
LIDO is a popular choice among locals and tourists because of their affordable prices and comforting food. It is a buffet style restaurant mainly focusing on Latvian and Eastern European cuisine. You will be able to pick from over 30 different food items in their buffet.
There are multiple locations across Riga. LIDO Alus sēta and LIDO Vērmanītis are within walking distance from your apartment. I would recommend going to LIDO Vērmanītis, as the selections there is 2-3 times larger than the one in Alus sēta (Old Town).
Āgenskalns market
Āgenskalns Market has been recently renovated and its food court is surrounded by different cafes and restaurants worth trying. You have probably heard about Central Market being the biggest farmer's market in Europe, but I would recommend heading to Āgenskalns for a much more pleasant, safer and cleaner experience.
Kozy Eats
A plant-based haven in the heart of Riga where joy and well-being are always on the menu. Savor handcrafted dishes made from fresh, local ingredients - from fluffy poppy seed rolls to rich soy burgers - paired perfectly with premium Barbera coffee.
Step into a space filled with greenery, designed for relaxation, work, or meaningful moments with loved ones. Here, every detail is made with care, and every guest is welcomed like family.
Iesmi
A lively self-service bistro by award-winning chef Mārtiņš Sirmais, serving fast, flavourful skewers grilled over coal. Choose from marinated meats, shrimp, or veggie sets - inspired by global tastes from Georgia to Japan - all around €11. Each set includes flatbread, homemade sauces, pickles, miso soup, and hummus for a full, satisfying meal.
Watch the open kitchen in action, grab a seat, and join the locals at this popular spot where high quality meets laid-back vibes.
Mañana
Mañana is another place with nice interior and great drinks. They serve good Mexican food, but the staff can be grumpy sometimes.
Boar BBQ
Boar BBQ is a 3 Michelin star BBQ restaurant with amazing food. They do not serve drinks, but you can order them from one of the two bars across the street and have them at Boar BBQ. They have an average of 5/5 star reviews for a reason.
It is well priced (12,00 EUR per person on average), and you can also try some traditional Georgian food - the restaurant is owned by two nice Georgian guys.
It is 20 minute walk from the Old Town, or you can take a 7 minute bus there.
Aqua Luna
Aqua Luna is a good place to go to spend your whole evening at. It is upper class restaurant by Daugava river with a great view. You should book a table in advance and the minimum amount you must spend is 70 EUR per person. They often have live music/DJ sets in the evening, so it is a good choice if you are looking for a party atmosphere and want to have some cocktails.
This Place Doesn't Need A Name
This Place Doesn't Need A Name is a breakfast/brunch restaurant. The average price is 10 EUR + a drink. If you are in the Old Town you can check their place at Šķūņu street 10, but if you are exploring the Art Noveau district (which I highly recommend), their restaurant on Antonijas street is the one to pick.
Martinelli
Martinelli is a family owned restaurant with amazing sea food (and other options). The staff is always nice and the atmosphere is perfect for a Sunday brunch.
Cafe/bar Ezītis miglā
"Ezītis miglā" is a popular chain pub in Latvia with affordable prices. I recommend their pasta, burgers and other main dishes, but do not recommend their snacks (like mozarella sticks and such).
It is a good pick for more budget friendly lunch, as well as a good place to spend an evening having some drinks.
You can find it at plenty of locations - 3 inside the Old Town, and multiple more outside (Baznīcas iela, Tērbatas iela, Avotu iela and many more).
Herbary
Herbary is concept bar + cafe on the rooftop terrace of Galleria Riga. You can have a meal with a view over the city.
Mīkla
Excellent pastries, cakes and bread. There are two locations for it - one is in the Old Town (Vaļņu iela), the other one is in the Art Noevau district (Dzirnavu iela).
Bāka
If you are exploring Tērbatas street (which I would recommend doing so), a great place for lunch/dinner and for some drinks is Bāka. It is affordable (most dishes cost 8-10 eur), portions are large and water/water with lemon, other fruits or cucumber is for free. There is also a great selection of drinks and cocktails.
Terrace Dearte ROOFTOP
Convenient place with some good lunch offers, and a great selection of dishes from their main menu.
Fifii
Beautiful floral interior.
Kase
Theatre themed French cafe/restaurant.
Snatch
Modern Italian restaurant in Art Noveau district.
Mussel Garden
This Mediterranean style restaurant is just outside Riga and is worth to visit for its seafood and outstanding interior.
B Bārs Restorāns
Restaurant and cocktail bar. Has a special lunch menu on weekdays and a brunch on Sundays.
Lidojošā varde
Flying Frog provides a diverse array of dining options in a unique restaurant with an outdoor terrace.
Rasols
Rasols is a delusive, expensive kitsch, bringing together soviet Art Deco, Petersburg intelligentsia apartment and NYC loft ambience, fascinating vintage and antique objects, local art and only vinyl music on the background. Amazing Eastern European/Latvian cuisine is elevated to the complete gourmet level. Try their soups, soviet tapas with homemade vodka, large choice of soviet-inspired cocktails. Also selected wines and craft beer.
